'Taking Shape' at the Theatre Museum

The fascinating Theatre Museum charts the history of the English stage, with a collection of props, costumes and memorabilia

There are also Make-up demonstrations, activity workshops and guided tours.

From Catwalk to the Stage: Students from the Costume Design and Interpretation course at Westminster Kingsway College have designed and stitched a brand new range of costumes. Inspired by the tradition that has seen famous designers such as Jasper Conran and Versace designing for Opera, Dance and Theatre, the students have used the definitive style of specific fashion designers to interpret theatrical characters. Costume Workshops daily (12.30pm & 3.30pm. Tue-Sun, until 13 Sep.

75 Years of Creativity: A Rambert Dance Company Retrospective: It was 75 years ago when Marie Rambert presented a short ballet, at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith, marking the birth of what was to become Ballet Rambert – the most influential force in the development of British ballet. This exhibition, of posters, designs, artefacts and photographs, captures the glamour and excitement of performance, reflecting Rambert's extraordinary creative achievement whilst providing an insight into the day-to-day practices of this famously hard-working organisation. (12 Apr – 28 Oct).

Workshops and activities are free with Museum admission.
